An unique car with a remarkable story – the Syrena 607 Hatchback from the WENA Museum of Motoring in Oława

The Syrena 607 Hatchback presented by WENA is one of just two prototypes ever built - and the only one that has survived to this day. Its story is truly extraordinary.
The car was created in the second half of the 1960s as a prototype and demonstration model for the company’s management. However, production costs turned out to be too high, and the project was abandoned. In 1974, it was decided that both cars would be scrapped. They were taken to a junkyard in Bielsko-Biała. The first was destroyed, but the second caught the eye of an employee, who decided to buy and restore it.

After his death, the car passed on to his son-in-law. While transporting it on a trailer, the Syrena was spotted by a brand enthusiast, who made the owner aware of its history and sentimental value. A restoration was started, but the work remained unfinished… until now!
Today, the car belongs to the WENA Museum of Motoring in Oława. It has undergone a thorough restoration and reconstruction with attention to the smallest details. The process required enormous time and financial effort, but the result faithfully reflects the original prototype.
The Syrena 607 Hatchback was built using elements inspired by several other cars. Its rear and suspension were modeled on the Fiat 125p, while the front resembled the Syrena 104. These features make it a truly exceptional model with an impressive look.

You’ll be able to see this outstanding car at the Retro Motor Show, held September 19–21 at the Poznań International Fairgrounds.
